Terms

Terms of use.

Last updated October 2026

By using ClipMagpie you agree to these terms. They’re short because the idea is simple: use it fairly and legally.

1. What you may download

Only use ClipMagpie to save content that:

  • you created or own; or
  • you have permission from the rights holder to download; or
  • is in the public domain or under a licence that allows downloading (for example, many Creative Commons licences); or
  • you’re otherwise legally entitled to copy where you live (for example, a narrow personal-use exception).

You are responsible for what you download and for how you use it. Many services’ own terms restrict downloading; following them is up to you.

2. Personal use

ClipMagpie is for personal, non-commercial use. Don’t use downloads to re-upload other people’s work as your own, to infringe copyright, or to harass anyone. Don’t use the service to download anything illegal.

3. Fair use of the service

  • No automated or bulk use: no bots, scrapers or scripts against our API. The API is for this website only.
  • Don’t try to get around rate limits, the human check, or any other protection.
  • Don’t use ClipMagpie to access content you aren’t allowed to see (private, paywalled or DRM-protected material). It won’t work anyway.

4. No guarantees

ClipMagpie is provided free, “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Services change constantly and some may block us. We may change, limit or stop the service at any time, and we aren’t liable for any loss arising from using it, to the extent the law allows.

5. Copyright complaints

ClipMagpie doesn’t host any media; files come from the original services. Still, if you believe ClipMagpie is being used to infringe your rights, see our copyright & DMCA page and we’ll act quickly.

6. Open source

The processing engine is cobalt, licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0. We run it unmodified. Its source code is available at that link.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use ClipMagpie means you accept the current terms.
