How Bluesky stores video

Bluesky streams video in short chunks (HLS). ClipMagpie stitches them back into one MP4 on our server, so you get a normal file that plays everywhere.

No. Posts that are publicly viewable work without logging in.

Does it work for custom-domain handles?

Yes, as long as the link is a bsky.app post link.

What quality are Bluesky videos?

Up to the highest rendition Bluesky streams, usually 720p or 1080p.
